River Rock Family Wealth Management and Austin Wealth Management

River Rock Family Wealth Management was founded in 2015 by Tighe Smith, Managing Director (Tighe's Biography). After a long career with larger firms, Tighe felt that smaller, independent practices offered a more client-centered approach to wealth management. He made the decision to partner with Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network (WFAFN,) the independent channel of Wells Fargo Advisors, in order to have access to technology, tools, and resources to provide a more holistic approach to wealth management for his clients. Partnering with WFAFN meant being backed by one of the strongest financial institutions in the world.

In 2018, David Austin, Managing Director and Branch Manager (David's Biography), joined Tighe’s practice. David had established a successful practice at Merrill Lynch, but was ultimately attracted by the resources available with River Rock. He felt that by joining Tighe, he would have the ability to manage his practice with his clients as the top priority. Shortly thereafter, Reagn Van Gelder, Senior Operations Manager (Reagan's Biography) joined the team. Her experience in the industry at Merrill Lynch as a client associate shaped her belief in the prioritization of client service, making her a welcome addition to the team. Reagan and David’s expertise combined with the advantages of an independent practice structure made Austin Wealth Management an immediate success.

River Rock Family Wealth Management and Austin Wealth Management merged in 2020 under the River Rock banner. The advantages and synergies were immediately recognized and the combined practices continued to thrive. Sarah Mekes, Client Service Associate (Sarah's Biography) joined the group in June 2020. Her background in financial services and accounting combined with her strong commitment to client service make her an integral part of the team.
